Sure, I've got some classics lined up for ya, but I got such a kick out of playing songs from new bands I never heard last week that I'm going to do it again. I was digging around and found a group called "Palmyra Delran and the Doppel Gang".
This is the cover for their newest album, I really like the "Mod Look" to it. (Mod is the term used to describe "Modern" fashion in Britain during the 60s.) The stylized cartoonish artwork feels reminiscent of one of my favorite shows,"My Life as a Teenage Robot".
Both boast simple shapes with bright, contrasting colors. The lines are sharp and work alongside the curves of the hands and fingers. The font is bold and compact. The layout and kerning of the letters while fitting some inside each other perfectly matches the retro feeling of the cover and title of the album. As you can tell I've enjoyed looking at the album cover so I hope you enjoy listening to a couple songs from it during the show tomorrow.
